Goodbye to Complex Setups! Bringing Your NSPanel Pro Zigbee Devices Directly into Home Assistant

Tired of buying multiple pieces of hardware and wrestling with complicated ZHA integration just to get your Zigbee devices into Home Assistant(HA)? Now, a firmware update for NSPanel Pro introduces a new solution for Zigbee integration with Home Assistant – no new hardware or complex configuration needed to seamlessly bring your smart devices into the HA ecosystem.

How does it work?

At its core, a new "Home Assistant" portal within the eWeLink App uses the MQTT protocol to batch-map the Zigbee devices connected to your NSPanel Pro directly into your HA instance.

*Essential prerequisite: your Home Assistant must already have an MQTT Broker and the Zigbee2MQTT integration set up and running.

Core Upgrade

Now, simply use the new dedicated "Home Assistant" portal  to achieve the following:

Bulk Synchronization: Synchronize all Zigbee sub-devices within the eWeLink ecosystem as a batch directly to your Home Assistant.

Reduce hardware costs: No need to purchase an additional Zigbee connector, as the NSPanel Pro can handle the integration directly.

Native-Level Stability: Synchronized devices fully support all of HA's advanced features like automations and dashboards.

Three Steps to Set Up NSPanel Pro for Zigbee Integration with Home Assistant

Step 1: Firmware Update

First, ensure your NSPanel Pro's firmware version is upgraded to v4.1.0 or higher. This is the entry ticket to unlocking all the following features.

Step 2: Configuration Key Information

This is the core process. In the eWeLink APP,find your NSPanel Pro device, go into its settings, and you'll discover the new  "Home Assistant" portal.

  • To achieve Zigbee device synchronization, you need to configure the key information. You can choose between Auto Scan  or manual input. If auto-discovery is selected, the HA IP address and MQTT Broker port will be automatically populated in the information fields.

  • Manual Input

    • Open a browser and enter the router's LAN IPv4 address(e.g., 192.168.1.1) to which Home Assistant is connected. Log in with your password to access the router management system. Under "Assigned DHCP lease," you can findthe IPv4 address corresponding to Home Assistant.

    • The MQTT Broker port can be found in the Mosquitto broker Add-on settings in Home Assistant (e.g., 1883).

  • In addition to entering your Home Assistant's IP address and the MQTT port, you must also configure a username and password(crucial for a secure connection). A detailed guide on setting these up is included below.

Step 3:One-Click Sync in the App

Once all information is configured, you will be directed to a clearDevice Synchronization Management interface. From this page, you can batch-manage all available Zigbee devices ready for synchronization.

Enhanced by F-Droid! Transform Your NSPanel Pro into a Wall-Mounted HA Hub

After device synchronization, you can go a step further: directly install the official Home Assistant APP from the F-Droid store on your NSPanel Pro. Once logged in, this screen transforms into:

  • Local Device Gateway: Directly manages synchronized Zigbee devices for faster response.
  • Complete HA Control Terminal:Projects your entire Home Assistant dashboard, automations, and device control interface onto the NSPanel Pro, enabling centralized, intuitive, and fingertip control.

Step 1: Install the HA Application

After device synchronization is complete, open the built-in  F-Droid App storeon your NSPanel Pro, search for and install the official Home Assistant application.👉For a detailed installation tutorial, please visit:

Step 2: Start Controlling

Log in with your Home Assistant account—the real experience is beginning:

  • First, navigate to the "MQTT" integration to locate the devices you just synchronized.

  • Here, you can manage them just like any native HA device: assign them to rooms, set friendly names, and create automation scenarios, achieving fully local, advanced control.

In the end, your NSPanel Pro transforms into anall-in-one smart home panel, combining a Zigbee Gateway  with a fully-featured HA Control Terminal, putting complete control at your fingertips.
